“Sponsor a Hive” Initiative
Branach Developments Ltd are proud to be a part of the “Sponsor a Hive” initiative with Rathangan Bee Keepers Association for 2026
Through this initiative, we are helping the Rathangan Beekeepers to educate members about the importance of pollinators to local ecosystems and food security, to support biodiversity through the installation and maintenance of beehives in their apiary. Most importantly to support the native Irish honeybee.
The Rathangan Beekeeping Association meets weekly at their Apiary in Rathangan.

BEE FACT:
The Native Irish Honey Bee (Apis mellifera mellifera), is Ireland’s only native honey bee subspecies. Ireland now holds some of the last significant, genetically pure, and diverse wild and managed populations of this hardy strain.
Biodiversity Policy
At Branach Developments Limited we are committed to contributing positively to flora and fauna of any area in which we are renovating properties in, and we are developing a holistic environmental strategy that will help us to avoid, mitigate and attempt to reverse the effects we have on wildlife and natural habitats in conjunction with the guidelines of Birdwatch Ireland, Wildlife Ireland, and Biodiversity Ireland.
We retain all existing hedgerows and trees where possible along with sowing pollination friendly flowers while also erecting bat boxes, bird boxes and owl boxes where appropriate.
In the last year we have installed hedgehog hotels in the gardens of our properties to support the declining number of hedgehogs in rural Ireland
